Where we work

Chartered Accountants for businesses in Ambad

Ambad MIDC is the second large industrial estate beside Nashik city. From our Nashik office we work with switchgear, auto, engineering and pharmaceutical units there, and multi-plot groups are among them.

Anil Khatri and Associates is a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Nashik. From that office we work with manufacturers in Ambad MIDC, among them switchgear, auto and engineering components, drip irrigation and pharmaceutical units.

The pattern most typical of Ambad is the multi-plot group. One family may run more than one shed on the Mumbai-road side, sometimes under different entities, and stock and services move between them each week. Between separate registrations, every such movement is a supply between distinct persons and must be valued. Rent and job-work charges between family entities need a fair price. Common services require an Input Service Distributor route if the credit is to reach the unit that used them.

Where these points are handled informally, the consequences arrive separately. Credit may be denied to the unit that bore the cost, and an income-tax assessment may question the rent paid to a family firm. The bank may find that drawing power rested on stock reported by one plot and counted again by another. We map the group first, then fix one treatment for each kind of transaction, so that the GST returns, the books and the bank file describe the same facts. Because the same group often has a second unit at Sinnar or job-work links into Satpur, that map usually covers more than one estate.

This page describes how Ambad businesses are organised, the questions that follow from that structure and how work is run from the Nashik office. Types of work are described, and no clients are named.

What Ambad is like to work in

Ambad lies beside the city on the Mumbai-road side. It is the second large MIDC estate after Satpur, and its units are usually larger than the machine shops found in the older parts of Satpur. Many groups hold more than one plot or shed. Some of those plots are run by different entities within the same family.

  • Switchgear and electrical

Switchgear, panels and related assemblies form a visible part of the estate, and much of this output is sold as project supply. Because retention money and warranty costs are involved, the timing of revenue and provisions in the books can shift. Delays in site commissioning have the same effect.

  • Auto and engineering components

Radiators, machined parts and assemblies are supplied to vehicle makers and tier-one plants, many of which are located in Pune and elsewhere in Maharashtra. Annual price cuts and long credit periods are normal. Job work moves both into and out of the estate.

  • Multi-plot and multi-entity groups

One Ambad group may run two or three plots, a trading firm and a job-work entity, with stock and services passing between them. Under one GST registration, the question is one of documentation. Under separate registrations, each movement is a supply and must be valued correctly. Common costs should be traceable to the unit that uses them.

The work that comes up in Ambad

The questions below recur in Ambad engagements. Sector detail is also given on the manufacturing, auto components and pharmaceuticals pages.

  • More than one plot, one or more GST registrations

A frequent question is whether a second shed should remain under the existing registration or be placed in a separate entity. The answer depends on control and banking, and also on how stock will move. Units in different states require separate registrations and are treated as distinct persons. From 1 April 2025, input tax credit on common services across separate registrations is distributed through an Input Service Distributor registration.

  • Bank drawing power across plots

Cash credit is often sanctioned against stock and debtors held at more than one location. Where the monthly stock statement, the books and the GST returns show three different figures, the difference will be found at the stock audit or the renewal. We reconcile the figures before the bank reviews the file.

  • Customer concentration and MSME payables

Auto and electrical suppliers wait for payment from large customers, although their own micro and small vendors must be paid within the MSMED Act timeline. A late payment defers the income-tax deduction until the year of actual payment (section 37(2)(g) of the Income-tax Act, 2025; section 43B(h) of the 1961 Act).

How we work with Ambad units

Anil Khatri and Associates works from Office at Plot 08, Eden Complex, Gangapur Road, Nashik 422222, open 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM; other times by appointment. Ambad is close to the office, so engagements for units here are run from Nashik. Factory visits are made when stock, costing or year-end work has to be done on site.

Group picture first. Where more than one plot or entity is involved, registrations, bank limits and inter-unit flows are mapped before any monthly routine is changed. With that map in place, each invoice is treated in one consistent way across the group.

On site for the factory questions. We review job-work registers, stores and production reports where they are kept, and the accounts team at the unit joins those meetings.

Remote for the regular cycle. GST reconciliations, income-tax work and MIS can be carried out on documents shared securely. Calls are fixed at set points in the month.

One named Chartered Accountant. Each client has a direct contact for due dates and notices. Replies are sent within 48 working hours.

Ambad groups and the rest of the district

An Ambad group may own a second unit at Sinnar or buy job work from Satpur. It may also sell into the same Pune OEM chain as a neighbouring unit. In each case, stock transfers, e-way bills and transfer pricing apply across estates as well as across plots.

A simple test is useful. For any month chosen at random, someone in the group should be able to state where the stock was held and which entity owned it, and in which GST return the movement was reported. Where that answer takes a week to assemble, the same delay recurs when a bank reviewer or a GST officer asks, and the reply is then prepared against a deadline.

District context is given on the Nashik page. Satpur and Sinnar are covered at /satpur/ and /sinnar/, while work with customers and units further afield is described on the Maharashtra page.

Common questions

Do you have an office in Ambad?

No. The firm works from its single office in Nashik at Office at Plot 08, Eden Complex, Gangapur Road, Nashik 422222. Ambad clients are served from that office, and the factory is visited when the work requires it.

We run three plots under two companies. Can you handle that?

Yes. Multi-plot and multi-entity groups form a large part of Ambad work. We align GST registrations, inter-unit pricing and common credit with the bank stock statements, so that the group's records agree with one another.

Will you visit during stock audit season?

When the engagement includes stock or bank support, visit dates are set around your month-end and the bank's review calendar. The documents to be kept ready at the factory are agreed in advance.
