Chartered Accountants for businesses across Maharashtra
Manufacturers, groups and traders in Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ahilyanagar, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Indore and other places are served from our single office in Nashik.
Anil Khatri and Associates is a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Nashik, which is the primary base. From our Nashik office we also work with businesses elsewhere in Maharashtra, in Indore and other places in Madhya Pradesh, and with groups in other parts of India and abroad. Within Maharashtra, clients are in Mumbai and Thane, in Pune, in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and in Ahilyanagar, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nagpur and Kolhapur; Indore is the main city outside the state. We have no office in any of those cities.
Work outside the district usually follows the growth of a group. A Nashik manufacturer opens a second plant in Sinnar and a third near Pune. A Mumbai group keeps its head office in the city and its factory at Igatpuri. A Waluj supplier sells to the same vehicle maker as a Satpur unit. In each case the same questions follow: more than one GST registration, transactions between group companies, bank limits that depend on stock, and large customers who pay late. When the units are advised separately, the answers can disagree, and the cost appears later as blocked credit, a transfer pricing adjustment or a disallowed deduction.
One Chartered Accountant in Nashik answers for the work of the whole group, wherever its units are. This page lists where our clients outside Nashik are located, explains why their issues are so alike and describes how work at a distance is carried out. Types of work are described; no client is named.

Where our clients are
Each city below is described by the work that comes from it. Nashik remains the primary base, and every one of these cities is served from Nashik. The firm has no office in any of them.
Mumbai
Many Nashik groups keep a registered office, their bankers or a selling company in Mumbai. The reverse is also common: Mumbai groups often have a plant in Nashik, Sinnar or Igatpuri. Most of this work sits at group level. It covers income tax for the holding company and the promoters and transfer pricing for groups with an overseas entity. GST is also involved where the head office and the plant hold separate registrations. We work with clients in Mumbai from our Nashik office, and meetings are held at the client's premises when the work requires one.
Thane
Engineering units, chemical and pharmaceutical plants and distributors are found in Thane, Wagle Estate, the Thane–Belapur belt and the Bhiwandi warehousing area. A group here often runs a factory in Thane district and a second unit closer to Nashik. Stock transfers, job work and e-way bills therefore cross the two districts. We work with Thane clients from Nashik.
Pune
Chakan, Bhosari, Talegaon and Ranjangaon belong to the same automotive supply chain as Satpur, Ambad and Sinnar. Their customers are often the same vehicle makers and tier-one suppliers. A Nashik forging unit may machine parts for a Chakan assembler; a Pune group may own a plant in Sinnar. Kurkumbh adds chemicals and pharmaceuticals. We work with clients in Pune from our Nashik office, with planned visits for stock, costing and year-end work. See the Pune page.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Auto components, engineering, pharmaceuticals and beverages are made at Waluj, Shendra, Chikalthana and the newer estate at Bidkin. The vendor base resembles Nashik's closely. Units are owner-managed, job work moves in both directions and prices are revised each year. We work with clients in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from Nashik. See the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar page.
Ahilyanagar
The MIDC estate at Ahilyanagar and the area around Supa contain engineering units, sugar and dairy co-operatives and agri-processors. Cash flow and stock follow the seasonal crushing and procurement cycle. Traders and processors make up a larger share of local business than component makers do.
Jalgaon
The district produces pipes and irrigation equipment, plastics and processed food, including dal, and it has a large banana trade. Its traders and processors handle multi-state sales and e-way bills. Their stock moves with the harvest.
Dhule
Dhule is a trading and agri-processing district on the Mumbai–Agra road. Textile and food-processing units operate in the Avdhan MIDC area. Much local business involves moving goods across the state border to Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Nagpur
Engineering, steel, food processing and logistics are concentrated at Butibori, Hingna and the MIHAN area. Because Nagpur is far from Nashik, we accept only work that runs well at a distance, and visits are planned well in advance.
Kolhapur
Foundries and engineering units at Shiroli, Gokul Shirgaon and Kagal supply castings and machined parts to automotive and pump makers across the state. Kolhapur, like Nagpur, is far from Nashik. We accept work there that can be done remotely, with planned visits.
Indore
Engineering, pharmaceutical, food-processing and trading businesses operate in Indore and the surrounding industrial areas of Madhya Pradesh, and many have supply links into Maharashtra. We work with clients in Indore from our Nashik office, remotely and through planned visits. The firm has no office in Indore.
Why the issues are the same across the state
A Waluj supplier, a Chakan machine shop and an Ambad forging unit look different from the road. Their tax and finance questions are close to identical. They sell to the same kind of customer and are owned in the same way.
More than one GST registration
A unit outside Maharashtra needs its own GST registration, and the law treats it as a distinct person. Stock and services moved between units are supplies, valued under the rules for distinct persons. Common costs, such as a head office, shared software or professional fees, must be assigned to the correct registration. Where the units hold separate registrations, this is done through an Input Service Distributor registration. Where a transfer is undervalued or a common credit sits in the wrong registration, one unit loses credit and another faces a demand with interest. We reconcile the registrations together, before the annual returns are filed.
Group companies
A typical group has a manufacturing company and a trading or job-work entity. Land or machines are often held by a firm or LLP. Rent, job-work charges, sales of material, loans and guarantees pass between these entities. Each transaction needs a fair price and a written basis, and some need transfer pricing documentation, especially where one entity is outside India. Without that basis, the department may substitute its own price on assessment; the pricing is therefore set in writing at the start of the year.
Transfer pricing for groups with a foreign link
Exporters with an overseas subsidiary must price transactions with associated enterprises at arm's length, as must Indian companies with a foreign parent. The accountant's report is filed each year. This work runs well from Nashik wherever the client is located.
Bank finance
Cash credit limits depend on drawing power. Drawing power, in turn, is calculated from the stock and debtors reported to the bank. If the stock statement, the books and the GST returns disagree, the stock audit or the renewal will find the difference. A difference found by the bank can reduce drawing power at the point when the business needs it. Projections and CMA data for new limits are prepared from numbers the bank can test against the accounts.
Large customers, small suppliers
Component makers wait 60 to 90 days or more for payment from large customers. Their own micro and small suppliers, however, must be paid within the agreed period, capped at 45 days, or within 15 days where nothing is agreed. A late payment delays the income-tax deduction for that cost (section 37(2)(g) of the Income-tax Act, 2025; section 43B(h) of the 1961 Act). We review the supplier ledger before year end, so that the cost of a late payment is known when the accounts are closed.
How work outside Nashik runs
From one office. Anil Khatri and Associates works from Office at Plot 08, Eden Complex, Gangapur Road, Nashik 422222. Work for clients elsewhere in Maharashtra is done from that office by the same Chartered Accountants who serve Nashik clients.
Remote work for the regular cycle. GST returns and reconciliations, income-tax work, transfer pricing documentation and monthly MIS are handled on documents shared securely. Calls and video meetings are held at fixed points in the month.
Planned visits for the work that needs them. Some tasks are better done at the factory: physical stock counts, costing projects, job-work reconciliations and year-end closing. Visit dates are agreed at the start of the engagement. We fix them around your month-end and your bank's review dates.
One named Chartered Accountant. Each client has one person who knows the business and answers for the work, wherever the client is located.
Scope. Work in another city that needs a team on site every week, such as monthly bookkeeping at the factory, is outside what we accept. If an engagement requires that, we say so at the start.
Work that suits a Nashik firm, wherever the client is
A part of every engagement depends on being close to the factory. The larger part of a group's tax and finance work can be carried out from Nashik, with documents shared securely and visits fixed in advance.
- GST reviews, input tax credit, job work, multi-state registrations and notice replies.
- Transfer pricing for groups with an overseas entity or specified domestic transactions.
- Taxation for group companies and their promoters, including assessments and notices.
- Manufacturing finance: costing, inventory, working capital and bank projections, with visits for the on-site parts.
- Business advisory: MIS, group structure and the questions that arise when the next generation joins.
The district we work in most is described on the Nashik page. Sector issues are covered in more detail on the manufacturing page.
Common questions
Do you have an office in Pune, Mumbai or any other city?
No. The firm has one office, in Nashik, which is the primary base. Clients in Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Indore and elsewhere are served from that office, remotely and through planned visits.
Can you handle our GST if our units are in two states?
Yes. Each state needs its own registration. Because the units are treated as distinct persons, transfers between them are supplies. We work on the registrations together so that the valuation of transfers, the distribution of common credit and the e-way bills agree across the group.
How often will you visit?
That depends on the work. Transfer pricing and GST advisory may need one or two visits a year, while costing and stock work need more. Visits are agreed at the start, so you know when we will be at the factory and what we need ready.
Services
- TaxationA factory's tax position is set during the year: when a press is first used, whether small vendors are paid on time, how TDS is deducted on job work. Missed points return as disallowances and interest. Our work covers returns, planning, TDS, cross-border tax, assessments and appeals.
- GSTIn a Satpur or Ambad factory, GSTR-2B, the e-invoices and the job-work challans rarely agree on their own, and each gap can become reversed credit with interest or a notice years later. Our work covers GST from registration to the Appellate Tribunal, along with customs and foreign trade.
- Manufacturing financeWhen a cost sheet has not been checked since the BOM was revised, a price-down is accepted on a figure nobody can defend, and stock statements drift from the audited stock until the bank asks why. We provide factory accounting, costing, inventory and working capital work, decision analysis such as make-or-buy, and MIS and profitability reporting.
- Transfer pricingA Nashik manufacturer that buys from its parent abroad, or sells through its own overseas distributor, must prove each year that those prices are at arm's length; where proof is thin, an officer substitutes a price of their own. We prepare documentation, the accountant's report and benchmarking, and support assessments.
- Business advisoryLarge decisions taken on figures that close weeks late show their cost later, as cash tied up in receivables or a bank that declines to raise limits. We prepare project reports and CMA data, support transactions and contracts, and provide part-time finance management.
Industries
- ManufacturingThe tax and finance issues that arise in auto component, engineering, pharmaceutical, food processing, electrical and chemical plants, and the work we carry out on them from Nashik.
- Traders and distributorsWholesalers, distributors and stockists in Nashik. Our work covers GST credit reconciliation, the tax treatment of principals' schemes and discounts, tax deducted on purchases, and the stock figures that the bank relies on.
- Family businessesTax, structure and finance for family-owned businesses and groups, including transactions between family entities and payments to family members. Succession and the entry of the next generation are dealt with from our Nashik office as well.
