Business advisory for family businesses
A group map, written terms between related entities, MIS that the next generation can read, support on succession and bank packs for family-owned businesses and multi-entity groups.
Last reviewed 3 October 2026
A family-owned group that has grown entity by entity often has no single record of what it owns, what each entity owes the others and who has guaranteed which bank limit. Without that record, decisions on structure or succession tend to be fixed before the numbers are known, and the cost appears later as tax, stamp duty or a disagreement between branches of the family. From our Nashik office we map the group and put related-entity arrangements in writing. The numbers are then reviewed with the owners at fixed intervals.
Advisory work for family-owned groups
A family group in Satpur or Ambad usually grows one entity at a time: a proprietorship, then a firm that owns the shed, then a private company for the larger customer. Few groups record how these entities deal with each other. When a son joins, a bank renews its limits or two brothers wish to separate, the owners find that the facts have to be rebuilt from ledgers several years old, and decisions are taken on estimates. Our advisory work records the structure and the cash position in writing first. The notes below are general and are not a succession plan for any one family.
A map of the group
Each entity is drawn once, with its owners, its activity and every recurring transaction with the others: rent, job work, interest, guarantees and shared staff. The map is updated as the group changes, and every tax or bank discussion starts from it.
Pricing and paperwork between entities
A related transaction needs a fair price and a written basis. Companies Act approvals and GST valuation are considered together with the commercial terms. Where this has been done early, an assessment, or a later division of the business, is easier to deal with.
Reporting the next generation can use
After sons or daughters take charge of a plant or a branch, results by plant, product or branch are of more use to them than a single profit figure. Family expenses paid through the business are separated out, so that the pack shows the business on its own.
Succession and reorganisation options
A will, a gift, a family settlement, the conversion of a firm into a company or LLP, or the split of a group each alters control, stamp duty and tax. The options are compared before any document is signed. Detailed tax computations are prepared within the taxation engagement.
Bank guarantees and personal exposure
Guarantees given by promoters, and cross-collateral between entities, should be listed before any division or sale. The bank pack has to agree with the group map on who carries which exposure.

Common questions
Is this legal work on wills and deeds?
We advise on the financial, tax and structural effects of the steps the family has in view. Wills, deeds and company documents may be drafted by other professionals, and we work with them where you ask us to.
How is this different from bookkeeping?
Bookkeeping keeps the ledgers of each entity. Advisory work reads the group as a whole and covers its structure, cash, reporting and succession options at an agreed interval.
Can you help if two branches of the family want separate businesses?
Yes, at the planning stage. We set out which entities, assets, bank limits and tax costs would go with each branch. Implementation then follows the route the family selects, and the related tax work and filings are taken up under separate scopes where required.
Do you work only with manufacturing families?
No. Trading and mixed groups are served with the same map and reporting method. Manufacturing groups often add cost and stock detail from manufacturing finance.
